Hey people.  I’m busy tomorrow so this is being uploaded early.  Today’s strong female is Eep Crood of the movie The Croods.

Will not crush you with her strength. Probably.

Will not crush you with her strength. Probably. May cause severe amounts of curiosity.

Why is she strong?

She is the first one of the Crood family to look outside their current cavebound habits.  Part of her strength is certainly being a rebellious teenager, sure, but part of it is also the sheer force of her curiosity.  She’s very strong physically, enough that she nearly crushed her, er, crush at a few points in the film.  She’s a particularly good example of a strong female character because while she does sneak out and verbally fight with her dad she never actually does the “running away” thing that can be so common with teenage girls in media.  Communication is strained, but never broken completely.  That’s a great thing to cultivate and encourage.

Also, today all the readers are getting a bonus picture of Chunky the Sabretooth Swampcat [1]:

I don't even know if this cat's gender was assigned. Whatever. One cute kitty here.

Keep it civil, people.

Update: Turns out this adorable kitty is a he.  His species name is Macawnivore.  I still like my own names though.

[1] Sabretooth Swampcat is my moniker for what the kitty is.  I’ve no idea what his official species name is at DreamWorks Animation.
